NHS England Q1 2022 activity

01 April 2022

We understand that NHS England has confirmed delays to new arrangements for the NHS contractual year due to start today, Friday 1st April.

BDA colleagues report that in a short message NHS England states that;

“Confirmation of the 2021/22 year end reconciliation guidance and contractual performance requirements for 2022/23 are being finalised and we will share with commissioners and the profession as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience, and thank you for your continuing work.”

As reported in the BDIA March Newsletter, NHS England stated in December 2021 that: “Practices should plan on the basis that NHS income protection will come to an end in April 2022 and we will revert to usual contract management arrangements”. Speaking at BDIA Dental Showcase last week, BDA Chief Executive, Martin Woodrow, said that the BDA believes that against a background of ongoing COVID related staff shortages and patient ‘no shows’ 100% UDA delivers is currently ‘not appropriate’.
