BDIA and ADG Partner to Strengthen Skills and Standards Across the Dental Workforce

The British Dental Industry Association (BDIA) and the Association of Dental Groups (ADG), the UK’s leading trade body advocating for dental groups across NHS, Private and Community-Based Dentistry, have formed a new partnership to support education, professional development and an improved understanding of compliant purchasing across dentistry.

Through the new collaboration, starting in June ADG members will gain access to the BDIA’s Introduction to Dentistry and Advanced Certificate training programmes. These courses are designed to help non-clinical teams deepen their understanding of the sector, strengthen operational knowledge and navigate the dental landscape with greater confidence.

The initiative reflects the increasing importance of operational, procurement and support roles within modern dental organisations, where informed decision-making is critical to safe and efficient practice management.

A key focus of the partnership will also be joint work on raising awareness of the dangers of counterfeit and non-compliant dental products. Both organisations will support clearer understanding of regulatory requirements and reinforce the importance of sourcing through trusted, reputable suppliers.

In addition, the BDIA and ADG will collaborate on wider engagement activity, including industry events, networking opportunities and participation in the BDIA National Conference 2026, creating further opportunities for shared learning and connection across the sector.

Edmund Proffitt, Chief Executive, BDIA, said:

“We are delighted to be working with the ADG to strengthen understanding across the non-clinical side of dentistry. This partnership with the ADG allows us to extend practical education and highlight the importance of regulation, compliance and trusted supply chains.”

Neil Carmichael, Executive Chair of the ADG, said:

“We are delighted to be partnering with the BDIA to strengthen and enable our dental workforce for the future. Our ADG members are responsible for delivering care at scale, and that relies on strong, well-informed teams across every function. Working with the BDIA gives access to training and expertise that will add real value to organisations and the wider sector.”
