Update on vaccination as a condition of deployment

The previously announced policy requiring COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of deployment (VCOD) for NHS staff in England could be reversed, following a statement by the Health Secretary earlier this week explaining that issue was being reconsidered.
VCOD had been due to come into effect from 1st April 2022.
Following the statement the Chief Dental Officer for England, Sara Hurley, has requested that employers do not serve notice of termination to employees affected by the VCOD regulations.
The update notes that the Government’s decision is subject to Parliamentary process and will require further consultation and a vote to be passed into legislation.
