No changes to dental SOPs in England expected on 19 July

12 July 2021

While the Prime Minister has confirmed that the Government intends to lift legal COVID restrictions, including social distancing and face coverings, on 19 July we understand that no immediate changes are expected to the dental Standard Operating Procedures in England.

In June, the UK’s four Chief Dental Officers committed to a review of current restrictions and the process of redrafting the SOPs is ongoing. Until a change is announced, however, existing Public Health England IPC guidance remains in place.

We will continue to circulate any updates from the Department of Health and Social Care, Chief Dental Officers, Public Health England and the devolved administrations as they are received.
