New BDIA President

We are pleased to announce that Daniel Davis, Managing Director of J & S Davis, was elected as the Association’s 71st President at the recent AGM held in Tewkesbury.
Daniel takes over from Sonia Tracey of WH Ltd, who assumes the position of Immediate Past President and Dentsply Sirona’s Dean Hallows was elected as the new BDIA Vice-President. Septodont’s Mike Cann was re-elected as the Associations Honorary Treasurer.
Daniel comments on his election: “I am honoured to be president of the BDIA which I have effectively grown up with. In 1923 my grandfather Solly and great-uncle Joe were involved in the inception of the Association of Dental Manufacturers and Traders (what we used to be called). My father John was twice president in 1966-1967 and 1984-1986. Over the years, the industry has changed from many small family-owned businesses to fewer predominantly corporate owned ones. The BDIA has evolved with its members and so now we try and influence regulation as well as educate members on it. We also must deal with the vagaries of Brexit and political upheaval. I am delighted that we will be reintroducing industry statistics which I am hoping will encourage more companies to become members and involved”.
