The course is designed to fast track knowledge and understanding of the industry and profession, giving students an insight into the basics of dentistry, dental equipment and an appreciation of the work of the dental team.

How & what will I learn? The BDIA Certificate: Introduction to Dentistry consists of 11 self-learning online & on-demand digital modules, ranging from a general introduction to the profession and industry to an oral anatomy overview through to oral surgery, laboratory procedures, infection control and implants. Students will be tested on all 11 modules in the final online exam.

How long does it take to complete the programme? On average, students usually take anywhere between 4 weeks – 5 months to complete the 11 modules and pass the final exam. However, every student is different and learns at a different pace. Course completion times depend on how much the student dedicates to studying and their current level of knowledge. For example, someone from a dental nursing background would likely pass the course quicker due to their base knowledge.
